arlad | 26K; Nc-17 |AU. Jared Padalecki is not your run of the mill high school student: for one thing, he’s gay, and for another, he’s an empath. The first thing has made life at school hell, and when the new kid transfers, it looks like it’s going to get worse… but maybe Jensen isn’t what meets the eye, either. (otherwise known as the gay teenage superhero!au) | I know I have a lot of HS AU fans on the flist, so it's for them. But also, there is just some really lovely growth in here: Jared trying to get used to who he really is, both gay and someone with powers, and then trying to figure out if he should really use them, no matter if it's for good, because he's just an average HS student. He's not a superhero. But then I love the slow build of his friendship with Jensen. And through it all, I felt this undercurrent of teenage angst that was JUST THERE but not overwhelming, it was a nice touch.

_mournthewicked | A trained monkey could do Jensen's job. Seriously, it's that easy. He gets through the day by trolling the web, napping, and coming up with creative ways to sneak out early. When the company decides to hire a masseuse to come into the office, Jensen figures it'll just be another perk of the job. Turns out he was right. | I don't normally rec _mournthewicked's stuff because I figure she gets enough action that everyone has already read it, but if you haven't, PLEASE READ THIS. Jared is a MASSEUSE and he has BIG HANDS that turn Jensen ON.
Over here at the side of your life |fleshflutter | 14K; Nc-17 | Jared is a hooker, Jensen is his workaholic best friend. | I think I failed at reccing this when I did all the spn_j2_xmas stuff, but seriously, this is deliciously grand. The fun banter and the angst and just being so real about Jared being a HOOKER!
Wanna Free Fall Out Into Nothin' |bekkis | 2K; PG-13 | Jensen misses it, is all. Jared and Jensen and the last four years they've spent together. | OH THE ANGST! This is delicious.
Two Become One That's Not Our Song | kelleigh | 3K; Nc-17 | In which Jensen wears eyeliner, and Jared may be the Spice Girls' #1 Fan. | OH HOW DO I LOVE THIS FIC? I could tell you but it might give everything away. It started as a playful crackery, but turned into a really love HS AU piece that has J2 being their own persons and not changing for anything. I love that idea. That they still click but still remain as their own beings.
Down the Rabbit Hole |gatorgrrrl | 4K; PG-13 | Jensen and Jared are competitive alpine skiers. And while Jared's at the top of the sport, Jensen's simply looking for one last big race. | I seriously didn't think I'd get this; I tabbed it based on another rec and then was bored tonight. SO WORTH IT. There's competitive sports, Jensen's stubbornness with injuries and possibly overstaying his welcome, Jared being JARED and funny and flirty and comforting. It's a very, very nice compilation of scenes in their lives.
