Oof
This week has been crazy ... and I anticipate the next month being even crazier. However, I get to leave around 2pm today and am going straight home, packing, getting in the car, and driving to Indiana to go camping with my friend and her cousins (who are a hoot and a half). I'm not excited about the three-hour drive, or about trying canoeing for the first time when I don't have the appropriate gear, but hey. We do what we can do, right? And at least I'm FINALLY getting away to do something - all of my coworkers have had extended PTO to go vacationing at least twice this summer and all I did was go to Michigan to camp for two days in July lol.
I did at least take off a few days in late September to take my mom to Milwaukee for her birthday. Not like that's super exciting, but she's been wanting to go this year - her and my dad usually get up into Wisconsin a few times a year, but he's been having back pains and getting shots for them, so he doesn't want to drive long distances. I told her that for her birthday, we should go together and go to the art museum and the science center, stay in some frou-frou hotel downtown, have really nice dinners (since he's not into that and we obvs are) and just get away for a few days. Then I took off December 20-January 2 and how freaking amazing does that sound surrounding the holidays? VERY AMAZING. I also realized I have enough Southwest points to redeem for a round-trip flight, so perhaps I will be going somewhere for New Years! It's exciting to finally get some days put down ... and especially knowing I have a long weekend in October when
bertee is coming to visit!
Anyway, I'm pretty sure I'll be MIA a bit in the coming weeks because of my schedule (or maybe it'll be the opposite so I can get mini breaks from work) ... but I also know I need to actually look at schedules for the three Big Bangs - THREE - I signed up for. MEEP.
Have a happy Labor Day to those who get it off! And to all others, enjoy the heck outta the weekend.
