Alrighty. So here's the deal. Been on vacation all week, did some reading, some beta-ing, some writing. It's been quite productive. On top of that, got nearly all my Christmas shopping done on Monday. Baked about 10 dozen cookies last night and made my traditional Christmas sangria. YUM.

So the writing (here comes the tease) ... not-so-sekrit Christmas fic is finished and in [livejournal.com profile] timehasa_way's hands for beta. I'm excited to post, partly because it's been such a laborious process, but also because it will finally be finished and blessed and out of my hands. HAH. In the meantime, I wanted to show you these fucking amazing cherry cordial cocoa brownie cookie things I made!

They were on the back of the Hershey's package, which I couldn't ignore because OMG cherry cordial kisses are my faaaaaaave. Another reason to love Christmas!

So basically you take brownie mix, 1 c cocoa powder, 1/4 c water, 1/4 c oil, 2 eggs, mix. Bake at 350* for 8 minutes. It said to let sit for 3 mins then put frozen kisses in, but I just shoved the kisses in immediately because I am IMPATIENT. HAH. Upside is that the kisses like melded into the cookies. Downside is that it took forever for the candies to cool, so I couldn't package them up until today.

Also? HOMEMADE SANGRIA HOMG. If you've ever had sangria at Olive Garden, you know how fucking amazing it can be, and I found a mock recipe online, so here we go, for a GIANT batch, like I make. 1 jug of burgundy wine (4L), full bottle of sweet vermouth, full bottle of cranberry cocktail, large bottle of grenadine, orange juice to taste. Look how easy! And when you use the jug o' wine (just $10) it's insanely cheap for the amount of liquor you get.

Title: Tell the Ones That Need to Know
Words: 18,500
Rating/Warnings:: R, language, angst
Summary: It's been five years since Supernatural, since Jared had a steady job and really felt like himself. When he decides to spend the holidays back in Texas, he's ready for the guilt trips, the tension, and feeling vaguely unwelcome. But he's not prepared for the men who show him what life used to be like, what it really is, and how it could be.
Notes: A J2 retelling of A Christmas Carol. Title and section titles are from The Avett Brothers' "I and Love and You."

Betas: Huge thanks to both [livejournal.com profile] timehasa_way and [livejournal.com profile] neros_violin for handholding, cheerleading, and overall beta and grammar checks. This gave me a headache on a semi-daily basis because it was always hanging around, since I started it way before 12 Days of a J2 Christmas, and then all that holiday-good-timey-schmoop totally ruined the tone of this story. I finally got through it, and have to give huge hugs to the girls for helping, and especially [livejournal.com profile] timehasa_way for running a final beta within 12 hours &hearts

I'm so sorry to spam you all, you have no idea. But J2 Christmas Carol has always been waiting to be posted, then I wrote this, this morning, and want to get it out there before I forget.

Two days from now half the world (give or take a few) will be celebrating Jesus's AND [livejournal.com profile] standing_fic's birthdays. Or, well, you know, some of us will be? Eh?

Either way, I went against my self-imposed lock down of Media Freeze timestamps for her, for her birthday. Because she's lovely and amazing and so funny. God damn. I adore her for her writing, how deep she gets into my brain and my stomach and just tears out such amazing feelings. But even beyond that, I love how funny and friendly and real she really is.

MICHELLE MARIE! I get all aflutter when you talk about how amazing my stuff is because I think you're DOUBLY amazing and fantastic. SO Happy birthday, bb! You're one of my favorite people I've ever not known in person and only communicate with via the internet. Pfft. I &hearts U!
