kelleigh wrote a charming fic for my birthday!! Understandably came a few days late as she spent last week helping me whip my Big Bang into shape! HEHEH.

Summary: Along with Jensen's new title of 'Unit Leader' came a better parking spot, a significant raise, and a fancy new office from which he could arrange secret missions and watch his team (his own team! Filling out their own paperwork in triplicate!) from behind floor-to-ceiling walls of metal and glass. Jensen had everything else. Getting a nemesis was the obvious next step. Based very loosely on the Canadian show, InSecurity.

I'm still slowly working my way through the fills and commenting, still have to comment on fills on my own prompts (ugh I'm so slow; the last two weeks have been terrible at work), and then look into claiming my own. Speaking of ... I wrote seven for this round, don't remember if I said that before, with five coming on the last day with the Sweatshop(TM). Any guesses on what mine were? So, a little known fact about me is that I am a fine lover and connoisseur of documentaries. I feel like a well-made documentary is like a good crime story ... with a great early hook that reels you in then unravels so perfectly like a mystery waiting to be revealed.

I have seen SO MANY on Netflix that I'm pretty much at the point that there are none left that interest me. However, I know there are plenty more out there waiting for me to devour them. Please tell me what they are so I can keep on with the documentary love!

In the interest of sharing, I wanted to list some that I've enjoyed over the last few years ... I watched all of these on Netflix, except the first one, so they should be available ... hopefully? The ESPN ones have recently replayed on different sports channels on AT&T U-Verse if you're interested.

In other news, I am exhausted! I worked a shit-ton of hours this last week, including a full day on Saturday. Yesterday I was out of the house from 8:30am-11pm because of The Walking Dead festivities. A bunch of my friends and I went to Walker Stalker Con and spent the day walking by all the actors' booths, but not paying a dime for autographs or pics because it was an absurd amount of money. I kind of expected it (though I was surprised some Arrow dudes were charging $50 and up), but my friends had never gone to a convention before and were very shocked and disappointed. Stephen Ammell was set up near the bathrooms so I passed his booth a few times, and he looked potentially hungover and not very attractive with a ballcap pulled down low on his face. Also looked like he had a huge hunk of chew in his cheek? the guy who plays Bob from The Walking Dead looked (surprisingly) really cute in person and the girl who places Lizzie looked totally adorable and wholesome.

Spoilers from last night's ep: Hardly anyone was in line, if any, for Mika whenever we walked by her table. Yet Lizzie's constantly had two dozen people waiting. We laughed after watching last night's episode, it probably would've been the opposite.

In the end, I bought a few cool prints of Batman drawings for my cousin and an "Owl be your friend" sign for my kitchen LOL. We also got our faces zombified, which was probably the coolest part.

deirdre_c filled my prompt on her Olympics comment meme, which was "Jensen just missed making the Olympic team, but Jared gives up his spot so Jensen can compete in his last Games," based on a true story.

I adore the descriptions of both the sport and Jensen's dedication/intensity for his place in it. Even more so, it presents a dash of angst and some really, really, really excellent foreplay :D

In other news, I wrote last night and then went to bed just after 10pm, but then the kitters were going CRAZY, chasing each other around and fighting and making these awkward lil mew sounds. Especially Shep, JFC. I COULD. NOT. SLEEP. RAR! I was up until at least 11:30pm, and the entire time I was imagining/mentally writing more Pacific Rim fic and of course this morning I hardly remember any of it D:

Work is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S. Which makes trying to catch up on Spring Fling damn near impossible. Yet! Reveals went up today and I'm soooooooooooooo excited to know that a very darling person wrote me a really fabulous fic that I adored without knowing who the heck was behind it the first time around. It's like biting into a nugget of chocolate and finding surprise strawberries inside!

fleshflutter! In which Jared and Jensen are in the throes of a terrible breakup but just can't keep away. I have been wanting some kind of crazy, dramatic, angsty fic in which they've gone through a bitter breakup but somehow come back together. Ugh, this fic fills that need exceptionally well!

And then I wrote Two Hands, One Shaft, in which Jensen overhears some of the world's worst innuendos from his cubicle neighbor.

My plans last night/this morning was to do ALL THE LAUNDRY so that I could properly clean up my bedroom (which is always notoriously the messiest place in my life) and yet I realized after shopping for three hours that I FORGOT TO BUY MORE DETERGENT. So I got two loads done then crashed in bed to read. I'm planning to finally get new bedding! I've had the same duvet cover since I first moved out of my parents' house at 23. I have always loved the design and the soft feel of the worn-in cover, but part of it got snagged on my bed months ago and it just kept getting worse. I finally decided to pool all my Bed, Bath & Beyond gift cards to get some new bedding. Though I told myself I wouldn't do it until my bedroom was clean.

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah, I dunno. I think I'm still going to buy some today, then some detergent, then do all the rest of the laundry.

I woke up to the kitters cuddling this morning in their cat bed next to me. It was uber adorable.

Trial By Fire

It is seriously the first ~real book I've finished in YEARS. And the first book I've read on my Kindle Fire, which I got monnnnths ago from a friend. Hah. What a way to break it in; it was a fun, exciting, and most importantly interesting read! I'm excited to know she's writing more because obviously the world needs more badass!Jade.

In other, other news, I'm really loving this season of The Killing. I had loved the first season, then hated the second for them dragging the case out FOR-EV-ER. But this one is a bit darker and more intense, and makes me feel like I'm watching some combination of Se7en and 8mm. This season, the side characters are way more interesting than the firs two seasons' worth, and I'm happy to see them going off into serial killer territory. IDK why, but serial killer stories always intrigue me - it's more than just one case, really, it's this whole trail of possibilities and fear.

Hallo all! I have survived my birthday weekend, and seriously, it felt like death was trying to take me under. Long story short, I was up until 5am Saturday night/Sunday morning then the kitters woke me up around 9am and I just never went back to bed. I went for brunch with a friend (mint chocolate chip pancakes!), got pedicures with fabulous massage chairs (a best friend when you're hungover), then my parents treated for dinner at my favorite restaurant: Carnivale. My mom's friend was with us, which made it a bit awkward at times because we pretty much talked about their escapades in the City over the last two days and whenever I talked about my weekend or random stuff, everyone went extremely quiet (wtf family?). But she did tell the waitress it was my birthday and they brought me house-spun strawberry cotton candy!

As for gifts, my parents gave me a gift card to Bed, Bath, and Beyond because I really want to get all new bedding/covers/sheets/etc. Then she had a note in a card that she had pre-ordered Wings' Rock Show. A few weeks ago, the parents and I saw at a movie theater and she was surprised that A) I knew about 75% of the songs and was silently, jokingly singing along to them all, and B) that I enjoyed it as much as I did. I was really touched that she thought to do something special that meant something, that she had remembered.

transfixeddream: Wreck-It Ralph. OH. MY. LANTA. He made the CWRPS world into the Sugar Rush racers and not only is it uber adorable (and quite fitting for which sweets make up each person/car), but also hilarious with all the details of the cards and each racers' characteristics.

This is one of the greatest things I've read in a long while: The Great Gatsby is an alternative timeline where Jack survived Titanic.

I loved this book in HS and it's always felt dear to me, in general, I don't know why. Even when I haven't reread it in yeeeeears. Because of that (and the general ridiculousness of the soundtrack), I have no real wish to see the movie, maybe that's why the above link cracks me up so much. I mean, it's smart, well founded, and yet ironic all over the place. The author makes connections to most of Leo's films, 'proving' how Leo himself is reliving Jack's AU lives. It's so clever, and now seems so obvious.

I only wish they would have connected Jack to The Departed, a man who tries to make the best life that he can with what little he has and makes a few wrong turns that bring everyone down around/with him.

Though now I'm thinking of the time that

neros_violin and I tried to plot out a J2~Departed and had fun swapping each of the guys into each role for varying reasons.

In other news, on my first Mother's Day (snort), the kitters sat on my full bladder while begging for treats. Perhaps it was my mistake to offer them some before getting out of bed.

Homo_pink writes some of the most haunting things, layered with this distinct understanding from the character's POVs. This felt so good and yet dirty to read through - and not even dirty like kinks and sex, just, off and wrong, but in a satisfying way.

She did a great job with Wild Horses as well, based on Fear.

This weekend I worked and slept and played with the kitters, and ended it all with THE WALKING DEAD. Which, there was a point about 2/3 of the way through where I thought 'If I wasn't watching this with my friends, I would ditch this show' and then WHAM! SHIT STARTING HAPPENING! AND OMG! LIKE! THINGS! HAPPENED!

Not so spoilery: Joe Manganiello was on The Talking Dead wearing a henley. I'm very torn. He's never done much for me, BFF kept going on about how hot he was and I just kinda shrugged, but a henley ... I kinda dug it.

The hard part about having friends who are into discussing shows and yet don't know about my online life is I have to censor and then don't find myself having much to input and they find that weird. For instance, they made a comment about something from The Following involving the fake!gay couple and I openly was like 'ohhh!' kinda excited and they asked me why I reacted that way and I was like 'oh, nothing, it reminded me I haven't watched the last two episodes, carry on.' And while discussing The Walking Dead, zombie outbreaks, and humans trying to survive, I kept thinking of fics I've read that I think my friends would find somewhat interesting, if not for the gay love and sex and mpreg going on.

In other news, The Walking Dead is back! The episode was interesting and had some excitement to it, but certain things kinda bugged or just didn't feel as impacting as I had expected. I think they're setting up some things for the next few episodes. The Talking Dead was pretty awesome afterwards with Steven Yeun (mmmmm!) and Kevin Smith.

For the commentfic post, I added a few more fills this weekend and this morning! I need to get some real work done the rest of today and hope to finish up tonight and/or tomorrow.
