Can we just give Will Champlin all the awards? Seriously, this kid has crazy pipes.

If you're not watching The Voice, you really should be just to see his impressive voice and great, great, GREAT song choices.

Here are a bunch of others he's done:
One Republic's Secrets
John Newman's Love Me Again (this is a pretty new song that I'm hearing on the radio in the last few weeks and it's so damned catchy!)
Imagine Dragon's Demons
Imagine Dragon's Radioactive

The last one was actually a battle round with James Wolpert*, in which he lost, but was stolen. This kid has been on Adam's team, Christina's, then Adam's again and he's clearly leading the pack. I woke up around 3am and randomly couldn't sleep, looked around online, saw his Twitter blowing up with pleas to vote and buy At Last. I looked at iTunes at he was at #20, the highest of all the contestants. I was surprised since I'd heard Matthew was #1 a few weeks back ... well, Will is currently at #9 and a music critic online noted that the iTunes charts are inflated thanks to the AMAs and people rushing to buy those albums/songs ... so basically "Will is climbing the steepest charts possible." Incredible!

*Speaking of James Wolpert a lil ways up ... his cover of Queen's Somebody to Love was fucking incredible. Adam was right; he sounded so clearly like Freddie Mercury, I couldn't believe it if I didn't watch it myself.

I just ... I can't get over how amazing some of the talent is this year.

Don't forget that [livejournal.com profile] fandomaid is still running its buy-it-now auction. My thread is still open with two fics remaining - timestamps or something new - for a min of $5 each. If you've ever wanted to make me write your favorite trope, or finish one of those stories I always talk about, or just ... whatever ... come on and buy me! :D

In other news ... I haven't talked about THE VOICE at all on here, but this seasons is giving me opinions. Lots of them! Christina Aguilera has been surprisingly nice all around - and incredibly gorgeous, I love her hair this season. I'm a lil side-eyeing her for now picking three judge songs for her contestants to perform. Adam and Blake's lovely bromance is stronger than last year, though nowhere near the height of Season 1. Still, makes me a bit happy to hear them call each other jerkfaces and such :D

As for the contestants! My faves have been Ray, James, and Will. I did really LOOOOOOOVE Preston at his first audition but he seemed to fall flat of expectations every week after that. Tessane is amazing, of course, but I'm a lil tired of the loud, powerful divas. Similarly to Matthew, who is incredible, but sometimes seems like he's just SHOUTING. There were a few others I enjoyed who have already left, and have sadly forgotten much about them.

But I think the most amazing thing was last night's episode and SEMI-SPOILER: Ray was wearing a henley. HENLEY. BE STILL MY HEART. Also, he sang one of my favorite songs last week - Marc Broussard's Home - so he's definitely aces in my book.

Adam: I can't blame you for having a crush on Blake, look at him, he's tall, handsome ...
Blake: (standing) thank you! Thank you!

Somehow I had forgotten how much I love these two.

The other day, [livejournal.com profile] kelleigh says "We need to do something fun." I ask what she has in mind. She says "I don't know." I ask about writing something together, maybe a fun graphics war. She says "I don't know."

I suggest she writes Adam/Blake, and she heartily replies "THAT'S YOUR JOB."

WELL. I've tried, and I've failed. To the tune of 700 words I do not like, and much whining today.

But we've might've hit the jackpot with a ~different~secret~ project about that other pesky pairing that keeps gnawing at my sanity.

The flight home wasn't entirely killer - except I was total sadface for leaving [livejournal.com profile] kelleigh - until my allergies went crazy and realized it was because the lady next to me had her dog as a carry on. WHAT EVEN.

But things were looking up because we landed nearly forty minutes early! EXCEPT, it took nearly 40 minutes until the airline determined what baggage carousel to use. So I still didn't get home until after 11pm, and since I'd been existing on PST, I was not tired in the least. I didn't fall asleep until at least 2:30am and woke up around 6:45am for work. TIRED.

HOWEVER!

GOOD THING #1: I'm seeing Neon Trees tonight at House of Blues! I keep forgetting, then remember and get excited! I hope I can stay awake but at least it's an early show - downside is it's all ages, LOL. Though I get to see my bowling buddy for it, who I haven't seen in nearly a month, so we're expecting full-on shenanigans.

GOOD THING #2: Good hair day despite the humidity - or because of? It's supposed to be 97* today with at least 40% humidity and so I went with extra curls to account for how the hair will fall and it looks pretty cute. Somehow good hair and a cute skirt always make my day. I'm not even that girly! Pfft.

GOOD THING #3: THE VOICE LAST NIGHT. TEAM BLAKE. WHAT EVEN.

Who else is watching The Voice and shipping Adam/Blake?

"If you weren't 6'5" I'd kick your ass!"

"ALRIGHT BLAKE, I GET IT."

Also? I totally LOLed at Christina's "There are three fabulous guys here who would do wonderful things for you."

AWWWWWWW YEAH.
