Title: Seashells and Tidal Waves
Words: 3,700
Rating/Warning: NC-17/sex, butchering of the English language
Pairing: J2 and hinting at Jensen/Mark WTF?
Summary: The unneeded, shameful sequel to Boats 'n Hoes. J-Boozie and Jens don't seem to be 4-Evs, especially when Jensen meets the next great thing, singer-songwriter Pellegrino. But everything's relative and Jensen has to decide if moving to the other end of the spectrum is really such a great idea.
Notes: FML. This is for [livejournal.com profile] aubergineautumn for her lovely donation through [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti. I didn't QUITE go in the direction you asked but tried to work with the verse and make another great travesty of J-Boozie's language. Apologies for that and the super long wait.

Despite his intentions, Jensen stuck it out with J-Boozie through his downtime ... )

But This is Where We Shine by [livejournal.com profile] queenklu

Queenie has a great voice for the narration and in covering what the boys are thinking in addition to what they're saying. They're always fun and playful and it's never too angsty, but you can feel the underlying tension here. Most of all, it's playful Christmas fun! Bundling up for massive snows! Snow fights! Caroling (yes! caroling!)! And best of all, my FAVORITE JENSEN EVER ... Oblivious, stupidly-in-denial, cranky-with-Jared Jensen. I love this Jensen so much I'll forgive her for stealing caroling off my 12 Days of Christmas idea list. (okay, fine so she told me I should do it then she took it back when I wasn't sold on it. She does it ten times better than I would have, so be thankful it turned out this way)

In other news, I convinced my mother to watch A Very Supernatural Christmas. It didn't dawn on me until minutes before I hit play that she miiiiiight not appreciate the fingernail pulling and the wrench in the mouth. And of course she didn't, but she laughed in all the appropriate parts and then asked about gag reels. So we watched them. All four. Again. We did this a few months ago, so either my mother really loves the gag reels or she has the memory of a fish (both are quite possible).

I would, however, like to draw your attention to the scene where the boys finally talk about why Sam doesn't want Christmas and Dean does. I freaking love how quick the responses are, when they both get the red, teary eyes. But I think my new favorite moment is when Dean looks over for a second, then looks forward and asks in a forcibly flat (but aching) voice "Why?" And then he continues to look forward but you can see his eyes coursing the room and getting wet and I just want to reach out and hug Dean, you have no idea.

Also? The more I see Colin being Sam, the more I love the kid. There are little moments with his face or his pacing of words or even just the way he watches Dean that I'm like 'yes, this is little Sam, I believe it is.' I'm still not sold on Ridge as Dean, entirely, but it's growing on me. Especially all the stalling and the way he presses his lips together and then his tongue presses out just a tiny bit, the way Dean has before. Maybe it's a testament to how well Jensen does Dean that I can't buy either Brock or Ridge as his younger version? I don't know.

This is the second time in a week that I've watched this episode, and I'm pretty sure I'll watch it again before Christmas. Ohhhh boys.
