2. I was bored yesterday and today and wrote a few timestamps. There's a trainfic, soccerfic: bedtime routines, and ad ex/security guard: first Valentine's Day!. I still owe one more Nathan fic sometime today.

OKAY OKAY. SO HERE'S THE THING. I KNOW I PICK ON THIS SHOW A LOT, AND I CALL DEAN A DICK AND SAM A PUSSY (IN MY BRAIN) AND WANT TO BURN THE PINK SHIRT BUT GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYS I DO IT FOR A REASON.
And that reason is that I WANT this show to be what it could be. I want it to give me something to bite into, to gnaw on, to gnarl on and not want to give up, and they fucking did it last night. I mean, fuck. During the first commercial break I RAN to the bathroom clapping! I could've paused it, I could've let it go and then rewind later, but no, I RAN so I wouldn't miss anything. Fuck. Shit.
So the thing is, there were like ten different moments where I went HOSHIT. And then a few others that I was all PFFFFT and a couple where I was like :( and wanted to cry, but you know, I'm kinda tough, so it would've been a Dean solo tear.
There were like maybe TWO THINGS that bugged me, but I don't even care. Partly because I hardly remember why I didn't like them, and then because there were so much epic fucking good here that I'm not going to spoil it. I am so excited you guys. It's like Krip & Co. decided to give me two half-assed episodes just so they could blow me out of the water. Seriously. It's like they knew what they were doing the whole time.

Sammy's face at Mary and John, especially John, got me in the gut.
Show always says that Sam is like John, but there are a lot of times I'm really on board with him being more like Mary. I can't name all the reasons right here, but this one kind of confirms it with the face and the fierce, flowing hair. PFFT.
Fact: I love Young!John. I love that he's so carefree and in love with Mary. That he's not the downtrodden, single-minded John that we've been shown for the last few seasons. But there's always been part of me that is like 'man, what a flip' when you think of Young!John to Daddy Winchester.
This scene, with Dean explaining the angel tags? Fucking sold me. I was blown away with the quick turn and how his voice got dark and he was just focused on what needed to be done. I think this is my favorite scene of the entire episode.
I wasn't 100% sold on this because I think Sam (Jared) got too wibbly for my liking, but the intention really got to me. Sam telling his father that he understands, even when John has no idea what the fuck is going on or why Sam is telling him so much.
Jensen looked fucking AMAZING in this ep. Holy shit. From beginning to end, I couldn't stop GAWKING. You have no clue.
OMG I can't even remember what specifically is said here, but Dean is SO HEARTBROKEN and my stomach clenched. Ugh. I can't stand how good Jensen is in this episode. Seriously. You all know I love him like no other, but he just fucking sold this episode. On Twitter someone said Jensen stole this episode and I replied 'he steals every episode.' Because he really does for me. I'm having issues in general with Jared this season, and some of S4, but Jensen has brought it like 98% of the time, and this scene solidifies that for me.
So yeah, there it is.
But also, random question: So Mary and John have no memory of it all ... but wasn't there something earlier on in the series, maybe even In the Beginning where there's reference or a scene or something of Mary going into the nursery and she acknowledges YED? Like "You, no, no," or something? I swore that happened, like she realized that YED was coming to collect a decade after he brought John back to life.
