corbyinoz has a really great post on Dean and women and the madonna/whore complex. She presents the idea that it's not the M/W issue with Dean, mostly because he is realistic about his 'relationship' with women, what he has with them, what he gets out of it.

Alternatively, she briefly mentions Sam's connections and I find myself thinking even more on the issue. Dean has sex because he loves women, and yeah, getting off. But it's obvious that he really loves women. And the ones we see him showing the most interest with are strong, confident, real women. Not ditzy girl-in-a-skirt types. I added some thoughts in the comments but I'm now thinking of Sin City with Casey. Even while she's a demon, she's strong and has convictions and they have some really incredible discussions about demons and hell and humans and earth. And in the end, he doesn't want to kill her, he wants to leave her be, and to me that's his acceptance of her.

With Sam, I see him being more reactionary, well obviously we all do. He never chases after anyone, he doesn't ever go off on his own unless it's specifically a connection with someone they deal with on a case, and each time, he's seduced and responds ... and he's fiesty and almost forceful with what he gets out of it. It usually made me laugh, that Sam's all bleeding heart, puppy dog eyes who goes all manic on women, but now it's kind of troubling really, as you have to wonder what his true opinions are on sex and what he gets out of it.

Sex and Violence!

Alright, I'm going against everything I said before, only because this was brought up and I remembered how much I love Dr. Cara, and there's Sam sex, and Dean bromance, and I needed to see it again for myself.
