Blergh work

The downside to a holiday weekend in a deadline-driven job is that I had to work 11 hours yesterday and still didn't get everything done that I wanted to get done. It also makes it rough to not hate your coworkers who go on vacations and are not here to do their work so you're waiting for shit to get done when they return.
Speaking of coworkers,
I don't know if it's just me (and it totally could be) but I HATE when I prompt someone about an assignment and then they just ... don't reply. Like, at all. I sent a graphic artist (not THE infamous graphic artist, but maybe she'll be quickly joining that asshat) a photo of something we drafted on a dry erase board. I sent this to her last Thursday with some info about it and asked her to start to draft it up so we could use it in the coming week.
She never replied. I didn't even realize it had been about a week without word from her on this assignment (despite my sending her two other emails related to it and still not receiving any reply back). I then emailed her this morning to kinda poke her about it, asking if she got to it in a nice way, mentioning that I would like to use that graphic to prompt our team to get more stuff done ... and she replied Nope, and due to the proposal due today, the one due tomorrow, and the one due Friday, it will likely be next week before I get to it. [Bosslady] mentioned that [graphic artist from another region] had some time, so he might be able to draft something if you need it this week.
Now, I hate when the graphic artists get huffy about their schedules being too busy ... because, like, we're all in the same boat! We are ALL super busy! I don't have time to listen to your pity party when I'm working on twice as many things! But to try to fix the situation (which is really just my annoyance that she never replies until I pokepokepoke her), I replied That’s fine, and understandable. Next time, please let me know what your schedule is like so I know what to tell the team :) Thanks! She went on to excuse it away that she didn't know how bad her schedule was until Friday ... which was two business days ago, and certainly she could have emailed me then to be all 'hey, I got your emails about this assignment, but I've got a few other things with quicker deadlines, so I'm going to have to put those at a priority.'
I WOULD BE ELATED TO HAVE THAT KIND OF COMMUNICATION. BUT NO, I DON'T GET THAT. I GET PASSIVE AGGRESSIVENESS FROM A TIME ZONE AWAY.
Just one of many reasons I hate this job. Another reason is my continuing decline in confidence at what I'm doing. I mean, I know I'm doing well, but (and I think I've mentioned this before) I am not bringing in any winning proposals while everyone else in my group is consistently getting wins. No one really counts it, I don't have a goal, or get bonuses for winning jobs or anything; it's just a personal thing in my head that I've been working SO HARD this last year and have hardly won anything at all, esp compared to my coworkers. Then yesterday, when I was taking the elevator around 730pm with the one client manager that I share a love-hate relationship with--I made a moody joke like "well, what does it matter, it's not like we'll win the job anyways."
Him: We better freaking win this job.
Me: ... that's funny. I believe it was exactly two weeks ago when you told me we would never in a million years beat out the competition, but we HAD to submit to make the client happy (which he totally did tell me while we were in Detroit).
Him: I don't remember that.
Me: Of course you don't, you were about six lemon drops in at the time. (which he totally was)
At least we both had a good laugh at that. And then I had a tallboy on the train ride home, and another at home while lamenting the sad state of my stupid family to my father and explained to him in detail why I don't want to celebrate my birthday with my family. Which is a story for a whole 'nother day.
At least it's already Wednesday!
