dugindeepI'm trying to work on this SPN Genfic thing and I like to watch past eps to get the feel of the boys and tone and whatever else. And I've gone through a few S2, which brings me to some of the better episodes that I've watched counteless times.
SO. Name your favorite SPN episode and why, and we all discuss. I'll go first.
Nightshifter
It's not the first time we deal with a shapeshifter and not the last, but I truly believe it's the best. But on top of that, I just love so MANY moments.
* Dean talking about how hard it is to be an agent in the jewelry store.
* How GOOD these boys look in suits, and Sam's hair is awesome combed back.
* The way Sam says "Mr. Reznik? Mr. Ronald Reznik."
* Ronald, period.
* Juandoll.
* "I like him. He says okey-doke" and "Looks like Mr. Okey-Dokey's okey-doke."
* "We're not working for the mandroid!" You shut up! I ain't talking to you. I don't like you. "Fair Enough." HAHA Poor Sam.
* Dean bonding with Ronald.
* Sam's discomfort with Sherri being all aflutter with Dean.
* Dean's shirt? I dunno. I just think he looks REALLY good.
* "Help him manage? Are you insane?" Dean's thumbs up to Ronald.
* "Understatement!"
* Actually that entirely conversation, like when Sam gives Dean that shitty look because Ronald's in the light. "Seriously?" And then Sam's pathetic "Hi, Ronald." :-D
* "No one's dying in here." Oh, Sammy, I love it when you take charge.
* First time in, like, ever, that I felt REALLY sad about a secondary character. RIP Ron.
* Hendrickson. Well, really, I thought he was too punchy here, but as he showed up more I loved him, so I like him here. "Go screw yourself, that's how I knew."
* All the confusion over Sherri fainting.
* The boys escaping to "Renegade"
* They both look unbelievably hot with the caps pulled up their faces (I don't know! I just love it!)
* Dean's succinct "We are so screwed."
SIDE NOTE: OMG When Hendrickson is bashing John and Dean's trying to stand up to him, he says, no joke "You got no right talking about my dad like that. He was a he-ro." HAHAHA I cannot take that word seriously anymore. Thanks Jared.
Runners-up for favorite S2 episodes (and likely of all time, in my opinion): Playthings (antiquing jokes make me :-D every time); Folsom Prison Blues ("Promise I won't sell you for smokes" and tear-drop tattoos, hee); Hollywood Babylon ("You're one hell of a PA").
