I've Got My Hands Up So Take Your Aim

It's just noon and I'm already having one of those days where I want to swipe everything off my desk and bury my head in the sand to cry for the rest of the day. SIGH.

But here are two fun things to cheer me (and maybe you) up.

1: In the January Rolling Stone The Black Keys' Patrick Carney said "Rock & roll is dying because people became OK with Nickelback being the biggest band in the world, so they became OK with the idea that the biggest rock band in the world is always going to be [expletive]." In apology ... sort of ... he said recently "I didn't mean to single them out. It just came out. There's much worse bands than Nickelback ... maybe," he added in his half-hearted apology. When pressed on whether he is a music snob, Carney told MTV Canada. "I don't like bad music, but look, I've got a lot of friends and not one of them has a Nickelback record. I'm not a small minority."

Also, I tried googling Jensen Ackles Jared Padalecki hug and got a whole lotta pics that weren't hugging and many that weren't them two together, or even one of them at all. Way to go, Google. Way. To. Go.

It is AMAZING. OMG. Just utterly blew my mind with the epic reach of J2 in each scene. I want these worlds to be extended. I want to see more of them.

Even more so? Caught Avatar today and my exact text to her was "My mind is goo, slung against the back of my skull!" It was beautiful and awe-inducing and funny and inspiring, and Jesus H. Christ. I loved every second of it. I immediately caught the portion of it that inspired standing_fic's fic, and then it went even further, following the story of Jakesully and Neytiri and the possibility for it to be J2. Hah. You know, because that's where it goes. So now I wanna see someone write about an indigenous tribe that Jensen is a part of. Jared is the 'normal' man, warrior, dropped into the new world and forced to learn how to survive, with Jensen as his guide. Of course they fall in love, yet Jared has to choose a wife in order to stay. Cue angst and secret rendezvous! Aha-ha!

In other news, I was tagged in salt_burn_porn just two hours ago, so that whole break from writing is fucked to hell. I have 1,400 words of angry!boys wrasslin', and have to post before I go out tonight, because I will be out all night, likely hungover tomorrow, then have to be somewhere by 2pm. My life folks.

Speaking of being out tonight, I've become a new regularly karaoke star, and an old friend from high school frequents the bar and he enlisted me for Bare Naked Ladies' "If I Had a Million Dollars," and apparently I was good enough that he insists we sing it all the time now. It's hysterical, I swear. It's like reliving my youth, given that my cousin and I sang Mr. Big's "To Be With You" last week, and some Michael Jackson the week before. Nice!
